Vantage Black Sticks Men Reunite with a Fresh Vision for the Future
The Vantage Black Sticks Men are set to regroup for the first time since their Paris Olympics campaign, signaling a new era of proactive planning and strategic development. This initiative comes in the wake of funding announcements made in December, as Hockey New Zealand aims to enhance team performance, strengthen player cohesion, and build towards future international success.

Hockey New Zealand has implemented a structured approach to better integrate players based both in New Zealand and abroad. The focus is on creating a supportive high-performance environment that allows national players to excel, whether competing domestically or representing club teams in Europe.
The first of two training camps will take place in Auckland, bringing together 19 nationally based players. This marks a split-camp strategy, designed to ensure a balance of new talent and experienced campaigners, including those who played at the Paris Olympics.
Notable players at the Auckland camp include Scott Boyd, Charlie Morrison, and Malachi Buschl, while the European-based training camp will feature the likes of Kane Russell, Nic Woods, and Dom Dixon, all of whom are currently competing in European leagues.
